THE CYBERTRUCK DOESN’T NEED SIDE VIEW MIRRORS
The new Cybertruck doesn’t need side view mirrors because it has something much more advanced and simpler than those. It has cameras. Check out the image below to see an up-close photo of the Cybertruck’s side-view cameras, which are located just above the tires. These cameras make things so much simpler. Raise your hand if you always had to adjust those side-view mirrors in previous vehicles. No more!
The cameras lend a sense of conveniences and simplicity as well as safety.
Some questions do arise since this is rather new tech in a pretty much antiquated industry. New or different is rarely embraced with open arms. That can certainly be said for Tesla in many areas, ranging from its sales model (selling directly to customers and eliminating the dealership) to the touchscreen it put in the Model S to the design of the Cybertruck. Skipping mirrors and using cameras instead makes a lot of sense, but will it be allowed?
Will the cameras work in all conditions? Seemingly, at least as well as the current system (looking in mirrors to see behind us) works.
The Cybertruck will not be here yet — for at least another couple of years. I reserved the Single Motor RWD Cybertruck, which would be great for travel and craft events throughout the state — so I am looking forward to seeing how Tesla advances just in the next two years. We have already seen how much faster Tesla is as it gets larger (prime example: Gigafactory 3) and hopefully by then Autopilot will have advanced quite a bit as well. It’s something to look forward to.
Perhaps those side mirrors may actually return. Or perhaps they’ll go away forever. Who knows? What we do know is that the Cybertruck (and Tesla) are here to stay and the innovation isn’t stopping.
