The Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) is a program being rolled out under Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative targeted at multi-family buildings (MURBS) , workplaces & fleets composed of light-duty vehicles such as taxis or medium and heavy-duty such as last-mile delivery. Funding will be delivered through cost-sharing contribution for eligible projects that will help meet the growing charging and refueling demand.

ZEVIP is geared towards funding 50% of the purchase & installation costs (Total project costs) of EV chargers up to a maximum of $5,000,000 per project in a continued push towards a Low-Carbon future.

The funding per infrastructure is as follows:

TYPE OF INFRASTRUCTUREOUTPUTMAXIMUM FUNDING
Level 2 (208/240 V) connectors*3.3kW to 19.2kWUp to 50% of total project costs to a maximum of $5,000 per connector
Fast charger20kW to 49kWUp to 50% of total project costs to a maximum of $15,000 per connector
Fast charger50kW and aboveUp to 50% of total project costs to a maximum of $50,000 per connector
Hydrogen refueling stationDispensing at 700 bar minimum Up to 50% of total project costs to a maximum of $1,000,000 per connector

*To calculate the funding for level 2 chargers, each connector can count as a unit towards the minimum of 20 chargers if each connector can charge a vehicle at the same time.

All funding applications must be received by May 12th, 2020.
